O, blog!
Blog! What happened? We were fine. We had big plans, and then we lost each other. I had my world, and you had yours. And you wanted you in yours.
Back in January, the Company called, and I had to go on a deep cover mission in Manitoba. Well, the situation got sticky. A taste of real danger. It took a little longer than I expected.
I get back, and I find my blog -- a dried, dessicated thing blowing across the desk. It was barely recognizable.
Turns out someone screwed up the old brianshrader.com address, which I tried to move from Yahoo! servers. Something in the process failed in a huge way. I could not get access to change the server information in the domain registry.
It was so old that I could not effectively prove that it was mine. You have to provide Network Solutions (I think) with most of the important documents of your life -- a drivers license and some other paperwork showing the same address as listed on the domain registration.
Well, I bought the domain in August 2000. My address has changed three or four times since. I could not prove who I was.
I figured I would let the domain expire, then repurchase it. Tragically, some company named enom.com bought it before I could get to it, so they've got it now.
So, I have returned to brianshrader.net and brianshrader.org to water this blog. A few scoops of manure, and it should be a dark and hearty green before too long.
So, after a 10-month hiatus, the blog is back. I'm back. We're together again.
